Governor Rendell Visits Lower Bucks


The Governor held a press conference at Riverside Construction Materials located in Bristol, PA and presented a check to the Redevelopment Authority for the Certified Redevelopment in Morrisville Borough. The grant will be used for the purchase and rehabilitation of vacant and underused properties within this area. The area consists of 563 parcels from the Delaware River to Pennsylvania Avenue and Post Road to Bridge Street, and covers approximately 269 acres.
The Governor presented a $1.85 million dollar check to Riverside Construction Materials, Inc. for the construction of a self-contained pneumatic ship unloader to offload cement in compliance with all emission standards of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.

Brownfield grant AWARDED


The Environmental Protection Agency of the Federal Government has awarded a $1 million dollar Brownfield Revolving Loan grant to the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks.
The grant will be used to help local property owners clean up old existing buildings that are no longer in use and the abandoned industrial properties in Bucks County. The clean up of these properties will help to preserve the open space that is still left in Bucks County for years to come.
his grant funds will be used in conjunction with private monies from developers and will be able to be re-used since it will need to be paid back.
The Brownfield Identification Pilot is almost finished, this is your last opportunity to get your site listed in the Brownfield Inventory Pilot Book. Once the book is printed it will be sent to all the economic development agencies in Bucks County.


$50,000.00 Enterprise zone
grant approved


The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania awarded the Redevelopment Authority of the County of Bucks $50,000 for the continuance of the Bucks County Enterprise Zone through the next fiscal year. This is the 7th year of the Enterprise Zone, which includes six municipalities that have for the past 6 years worked in concert to develop projects in the boundaries of the zone.

This award provides business incentives to either locate or maintain businesses in the Enterprise Zone area for another year. Since its inception the Bucks County Enterprise Zone Board, made up of community residents and municipal leaders, have not only provided low interest loans, but tax credit programs. Job training programs, infrastructure grants, and many other incentives to help develop and maintain family sustaining job opportunities.

LOANS & edc Tax Credits


Strescon Industries Inc. located at 1381 South Pennsylvania Avenue, Morrisville, received a $250,000 NAP/EZP Tax Credit to assist with the $2 million cost for the construction of an addition to their factory. Strescon Industries is a manufacturer of pre-cast concrete. Their facility is located in the Bucks County Enterprise Zone. The result of this expansion will allow Strescon to add 20 new jobs at this facility.

Mazzocchi Development—Canal Works of Bristol Borough has been approved for a $75,000.00 loan at 2.75% through the Enterprise Zone Assistance Program to acquire equipment and for working capital. They were also approved for a $75,000.00 loan through the Redevelopment Authority Revolving Loan Fund for the upgrading of the freight elevator and electrical service at the Canal Works.

Bucks County Road Sweepers, Inc. of Falls Township was approved for a $75,000.00 loan at 2.75% through the Enterprise Zone Assistance Program for the purchase of an additional road sweeper and the construction of a shop for storage and repairs.

Riverfront South of Bensalem Township has applied for a $1,000,000 Revolving Loan from the Redevelopment Authority. The loan would be to clean up contaminants on a portion of the site and to get that portion ready for redevelopment.
The proposed development calls for condominiums on the waterfront. This will help to start the complete re-development of this property which was once used as a chemical plant.
The owners of this property were also approved for a $2 million Section 108 Loan by the County Commissioners at their August meeting for the clean up and development of the site. The total cost of this project is estimated at approximately $3 to $4 million and would include a mixed use such as residential, commercial, open space, and possibly a marina.
